The protagonist is a male of about 57 living and teaching English in a university in Yemen. He takes a plunge into his roots and traces the past that made him what he has become now. There is frustration and anger at the loss of innocence and betrayal. However, there is hope for humanity in spite of the iniquities of people. It offers a fictionalized but unvarnished picture of man-woman relationships hitherto not portrayed so boldly and so openly. There is love, deception, sexuality, incest, betrayal... each individual character is endowed with beauty and ugliness... they are not saints nor are they sinners in the absolute concept of the terms... they all, in the final reckoning, emerge as truly human and beautiful. The narrative technique is stream of consciousness hovering back and forth over times past and present. The work is in three parts entitled Part I "Dimensions of Innocence", Part II "Dimensions of Knowledge", and Part III "Dimensions of Aphasia".
