After his retirement from work in 2016, Indrajit used to go to London everyyear with his wife Subhadra to spend a few months with their daughterSudeshna and her family who lived in a quiet neighbourhood in EastLondon.London offered a rich variety of pastimes, which included visiting theatres,musicals, art exhibitions, and museums. A number of historical castles andancient churches were within driving distance. There was tennis atWimbledon, Cricket at the Lord’s and soccer at the Wembley. And thenthere were the famous newspapers like the Times of London and TVchannels like the BBC, which together provided a rich fare for his mind.In his spare time, Indrajit captured many of his explorations aroundLondon, especially those that captured his interest, and shared them with agroup of his friends by email. He titled his mails “Letters from London”.The second part of the book comprises many layered memories fromIndrajit’s life. It is a mixed bag of his observations, thoughts and opinionson a variety of subjects.
