Freedom from Waste is the culmination of over ten years of hands-on work in kitchen waste management. Moving beyond theory, the book focuses on integrating sustainability into everyday urban life. It draws directly from Ranju Minhas’s extensive experience working with diverse communities and cultures across the globe. The book offers an honest account of real-world experiments, detailing both successes and lessons learned. Every method described has been refined by feedback from households, ensuring the solutions are simple, realistic, and scalable. At its heart, Freedom from Waste is an invitation to reconnect with nature. It encourages readers to view their kitchens not as sources of waste, but as hubs for regeneration. Ranju dedicates this work to her late father, Sqn Ldr Gurdev Singh Minhas, for his inspiration, and her mother, Sardarni Joginder Kaur, for instilling in her a deep connection with nature and innovation.
