This book is one of the most important one as I never ever imagined of writing. On the way to my journey of life I just came across some major events where I wanted to gain knowledge about everything surrounding me. I am more connected to the temples from the childhood where I used to celebrate my job of providing flowers to the “Pandit” present there. In 2014 when I came across the Jagannath temple of Rayagada, someone asked for a helping hand for the sthapana of some important deities there. So I agreed on the topic and came to know that the temple has some free places where many more idols are to be established in future. At the time of visiting to the different types of the temple I used to see some pictures were painted on the walls of the temple. Mainly the avtars of different deities such as the nine forms of maa Durga of “Navaratri” were painted inside the local devi mandirs like maa Mangala, Tarini etc temples. Inside the Jagannath temple we can see the different avatars of Lord Vishnu painted on the walls. Whenever I visited the “SABAR SHREEKHETRA” of KORAPUT I always follow the rules that have set to reach main idol. There you have to visit “TALAPAHACH”, MAJHI PAHACH” and then the “UPER PAHACH” and at last you have to take “DARSHAN” of LORD SHREE JAGANNATH”. In talapahach you would have to visit all the deities temple starting from Lord Ganesh to Hanuman and all other idols of the deities of all over our country. Then in the middle one you have to visit all the temples of Lord Shiva. After that you will visit the upper pahach where you will find the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu and then the Maa Lakshmi mandir, Maa Sarswati Mandir, Navagrah Mandir and then you will visit for the mukhya mandir of Jaggannnath temple where the idol of Lord Jagannath, Maa Subhadra and Lord Balabhadra will be seen. All these Bigrah’s can be identified by their appearance, the weapons they carry and the position where they are mainly characterized. As the lord with sankh, chakra, gada and padma carrier is known as Lord Vishnu, jata with chandrama, snake surrounding the neck named as Lord Shiva and white coloured four headed, kamandalu and padma(lotus flower)in hand is known as Lord Brahma”.These are some characteristic features that are associated with the Deities surrounding us. So whenever we visit a temple we see all the scriptures surrounding the temple. A few days ago I joined an architectural class arranged by Santanu Paranjpe, where I learned different parts of the temple. How the temples are created in ancient time, what type of graphics were made to represent the history that talks about the era. The graphical representation in the making of the temple and the beauty that represents the serenity and creativity of the artist that devoted his life in its making made me realize to write something about it. Whenever I went through the facebook sites I find some reels related to the sculptures and excited me to devote my time reading more and acquiring knowledge about this.Generally when we travel the temples we pray to god and only locate some idols those are known to us. Many a times we ignore the sculptures which we can’t able to read. By visiting to the respective places like Ajanta elora and konark we get to know about the varieties of idols those were carved there on the walls of the temple. We get many signatures of the old civilization and read them to know about their culture and living styles. Many a times various individuals visit the unvisited places and find something that will speak the story of some hidden things. Like when the mahenjodar civilization has been taken up to read its road, house designs and the metal made elements spoke the truth of its life style.
