"This book is a game-changer! The author's writing style is engaging, and the story is so well-crafted that it's hard to put down. The characters are relatable, . A must-read for everyone.
?If you are a fish in a tank, would you invite a shark in? Yes? No? Life is challenging as it is right? Why disrupt more? I am already overwhelmed by my current circumstances..."Champions aren’t made in comfort, are they?" The premise of the book really piqued my interest and got me thinking. ?This is a self-help book based on the timeless story of the Japanese fish tanks. ?There is good use of fictional storytelling and real-world examples. ?There are case studies of Jeff Bezos, Stephen Hawking, Malala Yousafzai, Satya Nadella, Nelson Mandela, Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, Beyoncé, Jacinda Ardern, Indra Nooyi and Princess Diana. ?Select shark archetypes(accompanied with B&W images) are used as allegories and powerful metaphors. ?"Each chapter introduces a fictional story that immerses you in the shark’s lesson with a key insight, followed by reflections and ‘shark exercises’ ending with a real-world case study." ?As Harish Mehta writes in the book's foreword, "The book will make the reader rethink their relationship with comfort, and to choose their own version of disruption before disruption chooses them." A truly thought provoking book. ?Each story helps readers identify the kind of challenge they may need to invite into their own lives, that aligns with personal values and goals, that can become catalysts for personal growth and transformation. ?There were many takeaways for me, on focus, adaptability, motivation, critical decision making, resilience, leadership, growth and much more. ? The book will inspire you, push you out of your comfort zone, and help you unlock your potential. ? I could see that the insights are applicable to every aspect of life, be it the workplace, relationships or passions, to thrive no matter the odds. ?The writing is crisp and to the point. ?However, the book is not for a hurried read. I took my time to journey through the deep waters of the book. Introspected and reflected a lot. ?As I have an interest in the self-help genre, inspiration, motivation, personal growth, development and transformation, this book was right up my alley. ?Read the book, swim with the sharks and play with other wonderful creatures of the ocean too! ? I take this message from the book to heart: Dear human fish, be it still or deep waters or storms, never stop swimming. Dive into the unknown. Embrace the currents of change. ?A 4.8/5 star read for me.
